"Alright, start him up." a voice commanded in a faint tone.

5U-P4H-31 Starting Up

The words blinked a bright white in the cyborg's dark vision. Suddenly, his surroundings flickered, and his eyes quickly adjusted to the bright light above him to allow him to see.

The cyborg found himself laying down on a metal table with men in black suits and white lab coats surrounding him,

More words flashed in his vision, and he sat up and glanced around.

"Well...this one didn't blow up..." a man in a lab coat said, wiping some sweat off his forehead.

"But does he function correctly?" a man in a suit replied.

"Let's see..." another man in a lab coat murmured as he approached the table the cyborg was sitting on. "Uh...do you know your name?" he asked the cyborg.

The cyborg shook his head.

"Your name is 5U-P4H-31. You are the thirty-first of your kind, and you seem to be the only one that has worked." the man dressed in a lab coat answered. "But we need to make sure that our assumptions are correct."

The cyborg nodded.

The other lab coated man spoke up. "We are your creators You work for us." he said slowly.

Once again, the cyborg nodded. "Creators." he repeated as he stared at the men before him. Small green circles appeared around their heads with a tab reading "Creator" above each of them.

"His speech works too." another black suited man commented. "Big improvements from the others."

"Yes, yes, but we must see if he can do his main function." the man in the lab suit that informed the cyborg of his name put in. The scientist reached into his pocket and pulled out a phone, and he held it out to the cyborg. "5U-P4H, hack." he said in a firm voice.

The cyborg took the phone from the man's hand and stared at it. A white circle appeared around it with a tab saying "Target." His right hand suddenly gained highlights of green where metal was melded. The lines of green traveled up his arm and to the back of his neck.

The man in the lab coat took his phone back and stared at it. "Completely wiped..." he uttered in surprise.

The cyborg raised his right arm, which was still highlighted with green light, and began to organize the information before him. As he swiped his hand to the right, a tab of contacts followed it. He did this with all contents of the scientist's phone until he had a decent window to see the outside world.

A man in a black suit nodded. "Let's get that info put back and shut him down to get painted." he said to the men in lab coats.

One of the scientists nodded as the suited men left the room. "Okay, we're going to erase that new data and shut you down for a while." he said to the cyborg.

The cyborg nodded his head. "Understood." he replied.

The man smiled and stared at him. "All those numbers and letters for your name are going to be a mouthful...we should simplify it with leet speech." he decided.

"My god, Harry, you're such a geek. Besides, he wouldn't care about his name." the other man in a lab coat replied.

"I'm just simplifying his name." Harry replied irritably before staring at the cyborg. "Supah." he said. "Your name is Supah."

"That's stupid!" the other man in a lab coat exclaimed.

"Hey, I'm just playing by the leet speech." Harry retorted.

"...Supah." the cyborg repeated his new name.

"See? He likes it." Harry said.

"Just shut him down." the other scientist replied.

Harry reached to the back of Supah's neck and pressed something, causing text to appear in his vision.

Supah tilted his head and stared at his newly painted self in the mirror the scientists had brought in for him.

He had faintly tanned skin and light brown hair. He wore a black t-shirt with the number thirty-one printed in green, generic jeans, and gray and white shoes. A black headset with accented green earmuffs rested on his head. His eyes were painted blue.

"We couldn't do anything fancy, we had to make you look like a normal teenage boy." a scientist said as he rolled the mirror out of the room. "You don't mind that, do you?"

Supah shook his head. "I think I look good." he said.

The scientist grinned. "You're a confident one, aren't you?" he patted the cyborg on the shoulder.

Supah stared at him and tilted his head.

The scientist chuckled. "We'll give you some data to fill you in on what you should know at this age," he said.

Supah nodded at him.

"And, you'll be doing your purpose very soon. Just be ready." the man in the lab coat added.

Supah nodded once again.

"You might start tonight, we'll see." the scientist said before leaving the room Supah was placed in.

Supah glanced around the room before walking towards the light switch. His hand became highlighted with green lights once again, and he placed it on the switch.

Eventually he became bored of the lights and left them be. He sat on the floor of the room and looked around in boredom.

A couple hours later, a scientist entered the room and handed a flash drive to Supah. The cyborg took it and stared at it before looking up at the man.

"That contains information a kid your age should know. Hack it." the scientist said.

Supah nodded as his armed regained the green highlights, and he watched the target tab form around the flash drive.

"You'll have to start serving your purpose tomorrow. We ran into a few...delays." the scientist said to him. "I'll shut you down for the night, alright?"

Supah nodded at him, still digesting the new information that he had gained.

The scientist reached to the back of his neck and pressed something, and Supah watched as the shut down sequence warning popped up in his vision.

Supah watched his vision blacken, yet the jumbles of information could be faintly seen organizing themselves.

---

The next morning, Supah was turned on and brought to a different room to begin what the scientists called his "purpose." From his teenage vocabulary, he realized the word purpose meant the reason he was created.

When he entered the room with a two scientists leading him, he was met with a table full of a variety of devices. There were phones, computers, tablets, flash drives, and disks. Circles and labels popped up in his vision, each one reading a name corresponding to the item on the table.

Supah tilted his head in curiosity and looked a the men who were standing next to the table. They each were suited in black.

"Supah, we need you hack each and every one of these items." one of scientists that led him into the room suddenly said.

"Why?" Supah replied.

"Well...we discovered a race of immortals, and we believe that these devices have proof of them. We managed to get these from whom we suspect are a part of these immortals, and we want some hard proof that we are correct." the scientist explained.

Supah stared at him. "That's an invasion of privacy. And you stole from those people. You don't know if they're immortal or not," he said in a firm tone.

"Supah, hacking into these devices and exploiting the existence of immortals is your purpose. Besides, once we find out what these immortals can do, it will be a great help to science and society." the man in the lab coat replied.

"I'm not hacking anything. I might ruin someone's life by looking in their personal stuff." the cyborg stubbornly responded.

One of the agents next to the table sighed. "Although we gave him the educated mind of a teenager, we seem to have given the arrogance of one as well." he said in an annoyed voice.

"I'm only saying that I think this is wrong." Supah snapped at him.

"Shut him down. Wipe his memories, destroy his data, take him apart." the other agent said. "We've created another droid with flaws. Robots shouldn't be able to tell what's right and wrong."

One of the scientists reached to the back of Supah's neck, but the cyborg reacted quickly and shoved him away.

Supah stared at the men as the tabs above their heads reading "Creator" suddenly distorted and became a jumble of ones and zeroes.

The agents quickly pulled out pistols and fired, and Supah grabbed a flash drive off the table before ducking behind some machinery.

"Surround him! Don't let him get away!" one of the agents called.

Supah put his hand on the machine as his arm gained the familiar green lights.

The agents and scientists were beginning to come around the machine, and Supah quickly activated it, causing it to spark threateningly and set on fire. He was sure that wasn't the machine's intended use, but it distracted the men long enough for him to get out of the room as the fire alarm set off.

Then, another alarm sounded.

Supah watched as the hallway became red with lights.

"DROID 5U-P4H-31 HAS GONE ROGUE." a voice said on the loudspeaker over the blares of the alarms.

Supah sighed and looked around before running down the hall. He searched for an exit as scientists and agents filed out of their rooms to see the ruckus and attempt to stop him, which had little effect. The cyborg was managing to dodge their assaults and make it to an exit, which agents were attempting to block, yet he shoved his way out of the facility and sprinted into the woods.

He could hear the faint gunshots of agents that had chased him down, but eventually they died off, and Supah found himself alone in the woods.

He looked around and listened for the agents, yet nothing could be heard. He found an area in a clearing surrounded by trees and decided to rest there for the night.

Supah opened his hand and stared down at the flash drive he had snatched from the table of devices. It was much smaller than what contained the information of his teenage mind, but he knew that it would still contain some information that could be used against his creators.

The familiar hacking words appeared in his vision, and he sat down with his back against a tree as files of videos and pictures downloaded into his vision. He quickly organized the information as the hacking sequence came to an end.

New Data Downloaded

Supah browsed through the photos first. Many of them contained a family of a woman and a man with a son. In some pictures they seemed to be doing magic, for there were strange auras in their hands.

There were files containing typed journal entries, most of them saying how the family could not escape from the government and how they were after them. They were talking about being immortal.

Supah's eyes widened as he viewed videos of the family showing off magic. These immortals the scientists and agents had mentioned were real, and they were his creators' targets. He didn't understand why, or what his creators were going to do to them, but the flash drive's contents were enough to prove that it was nothing good.

"This was my purpose?" Supah questioned to himself. "To give away the existence of these people?"

He scanned through the files once more before storing them away.

"I don't understand..." Supah whispered to himself. "Why a purpose so cruel?" he wondered.

The cyborg then lost himself in his data and the files of the flash drive.

---3 Years Later---

Security guards were dozing off in the security rooms of the facility. They were easily bored of watching monitors all day and night while anticipating something to happen.

While in their daze, they were unable to notice the cyborg hacking into the monitors and security cameras.

Supah erased all the film the cameras had captured, and the monitors in the security room became clouded with binary codes of ones and zeroes.

Supah then hacked into the door system and snuck into the facility. He glanced around the hall to make sure there wasn't anyone that would catch him sneaking in.

We was relieved to find no one, and he continued through the facility, one target in mind.

It was a vague target, but he had to find the main computer of the facility. He was certain that was where information about his creators were, and he was also on the hunt for more information about him and immortals.

His creators must've hid something from him, he guessed. And he was determined to find out what and so much more.

As Supah continued down halls, he came to a door guarded by a few agents. He quickly hid behind a corner of the hallway.

Upon seeing this, Supah assumed that behind the door was what he was searching for. He just had to figure out how to get past the agents.

Eventually, the cyborg, programmed to act like a teenager, turned to the idea of reckless behavior and to charge in and see what happened.

Supah closed his eyes for a moment before jumping out into the hall. The agents immediately noticed him, and Supah grabbed the nearest one before slamming him into the wall, knocking him out.

The others pulled put pistols, and Supah used the agent he knocked unconscious as a human shield. He then hid back behind the corner to figure out his next move as the agents reloaded and slowly closed in on him.

"Get security over here!" one of the agents said.

Supah glared in the direction of his voice, and Supah grabbed the walkie talkie on the agent that was used as his shield.

As another agent picked up his walkie talkie to contact security, Supah cut off their communication. The walkie talkies emitted static, and there was nothing the agents could do to fix them.

The men in suits went back to their guns, and Supah came out of hiding before punching one in the face. With that much impact with a metal fist, the agent was knocked out.

One agent fired his pistol and hit Supah in his right shoulder.

Supah stumbled back from the impact, sparks flying from the exposed and punctured wires that acted like his veins. Metal was dented inward to create a hole to hold the bullet, which Supah picked out of his shoulder before turning to face the agent that shot him.

Supah's once blue eyes were now lines of green ones and zeroes on a black screen.

Red circles popped up around the agents' heads, each one holding a tab reading "Enemy."

Supah kicked the agent that shot him in the shins before punching him in the face, and he managed to dodge the other two's bullets before punching them both in the head.

Supah glanced at the agents on the floor before looking at his injured shoulder. The warning was still flashing in his vision, which was annoying, but he was able to ignore it.

The cyborg walked towards the door the agents were guarding. There was no label nor room number, which was mildly suspicious, and it made Supah more sure that this was where he was going to find what he was looking for.

Supah tried to open the door, and a buzz came from a security system next to the door.

"Please enter pass code." a voice came from a speaker.

The cyborg looked at his injured right arm and placed it on the security system as green lines of lights traveling from the back of his neck to his fingertips flickered on.

Supah walked towards the computer and pushed the chair aside.

This was what he was looking for.

He put his hacking hand on the computer as green light wrapped his arm, a bit dimmer this time. He was wearing out his hacking system, but he believed that he had enough energy left to get the files from the computer.

Supah surfed the files quickly, his memory returning of the other bots and the immortals his creators were after.

There were case files about different immortals the scientists and agents were keeping track of. There was also files of bots that were made and destroyed for failing or giving away or taking information.

Supah realized that he might be next and quickly made his escape.

Supah searched through the files until he came to one about the cyborgs of his kind.

He began the skim the information in the file.

"5U-P4H's are to be used for hacking uses only. Any system, program, device. To take files to further our operation and hunt for those that are not of our kind.

Supah stared at the file before storing it away. He closed his eyes before looking at his injured shoulder.

"I did good..." he said to himself. "I gave myself a new purpose." he stated before heading into the forest ahead as alarms began to go off behind him from the facility.

---

"Dammit! He took all the files!" a scientist exclaimed in anger.

"We don't need to worry about that anymore," a voice said from behind him.

The scientist turned around to see two agents with a beaten man.

"We found one and captured him." an agent said before shaking the man.

The man struggled and formed a multicolored aura in both of his hands.

The scientist stared in awe. "Get the anti magic cuff on him, get the syringes ready, our objective will continue!" he said before hurrying out the room, and the agents dragged the immortal after him. "We can't let this opportunity get away." the scientist said as he picked up a tray of syringes off a cart.

---10 Years Later---

"Have you tried turning it on and off again?" the technician asked with a yawn. It was getting late, and even after closing time he and a few others were helping desperate people who needed their devices fixed.

"Yes! It just won't work!" the woman replied angrily, putting her phone down on the counter in frustration.

The technician sighed and reached to a walkie talkie on his belt. "Hey, Sup, I need you over here. Stat." he said.

From the back doors, Supah came into the room. He was wearing a gray coat over his metal structure. "I told you to stop calling me that. It makes me sound like a chowder." he huffed.

The technician pointed to the woman. "She's having problems with her phone. Her keyboard doesn't work. And since you have some sort of weird magic with technical things, I think you can do something about this before we get out of here," he said with another yawn.

Supah nodded and picked up the phone. "Broken keyboard, huh?" he asked.

The woman crossed her arms in impatience. "Yes." she said angrily.

Supah put his hands under the desk as his right arm was lit with green. Without the jacket, he would've been caught.

Supah quickly stored the files back into the phone and fixed the keyboard. He typed a few letters before bringing his hands onto the desk once more.

"Your screen just froze, an easy fix." Supah said before placing the phone on the counter.

The technician sighed and looked at the cyborg. "Thanks, Supah. I couldn't figure it out." he said. "I'll close up. You can go on and leave."

Supah nodded and briskly left the store.

He was glad he was able to find an area where he was able to hide his cyborg traits and hacking abilities from the public.

Supah then headed towards an abandoned warehouse on the other side of town. He looked around before entering the warehouse through broken panels of wood that were used to block a hole in the wall.

Supah glanced around the warehouse building as a figure popped his head out from behind a few boxes.

"Thank god...it's just you..." the man said before coming out of hiding. A woman and their son then followed. They were from the flash drive Supah had hacked into years before.

The cyborg nodded and motioned for them to follow him. The family quickly followed him out of the warehouse and into the forest.

After finding the family and identifying them, Supah was determined to get them as far away as possible from his creators. He didn't want them to meet a horrible fate like immortals that weren't so fortunate had. He heard about what happened to immortals that were captured and brought to labs.

"Uh...I'm sorry, robot, but we haven't caught your name," the father of the family said as he looked around cautiously.

"My creators named me Supah." the cyborg replied as he continued forward.

"Supah? Like a super hero?" his son asked with a small smile.

Supah did not know what a super hero was, so he shrugged.

The mother chuckled and patted her son's back.

Supah continued leading the family the family through the forest before they came to a wide river.

"Cross this," he said before pointing to the other side of the river. "Over there is safe land. No labs."

The father nodded and picked up his son. He then waded into the water and began the trek across the river.

The mother of the family stared at Supah and hugged him. "Thank you so much...you're the most human thing we've ever encountered in this horrible world." she said before backing away and following the father into the river.

Supah watched them safely reach the opposite side of the river. They turned and waved to him.

Supah raised his right arm and waved back.

"...Human." he whispered to himself.
